World Cup Salvaged by New Conservative MP

Hugh Robertson was recently elected as MP for Faversham and Mid Kent and is also Sports Minister. Only a few days into his first few days of work there and controversy struck when Former Chairman of the Football Association made comments, appearing to say that Spain could drop there bid if rivals Russia bribed the officials in South Africa

The New Minister spent most of his weekend dealing with the media and outlining the government's views on the unfolding problem. He claims to have been alerted to the disclosures late on Saturday evening after returning from his first official role as a minister as a guest at the FA cup final.
Mr Robertson then said: "The events of the weekend were damaging but we have seen worse things happen in the past,But you do get over these things. Crucially, despite the events the core strength of the England bid remains in place.
"All the stadiums are built, there is predicted to be money made and there will be massive support from the fans," he continued.
With controversy like this occurring in the past with big sporting events its been a baptism of fire for the new MP of Faversham
